We’ve been missing Peanut Butter since he’s been in Egypt these last 2 weeks. Everyone has been very excited to see him again tomorrow. Yep, tomorrow’s the big day when Daddy comes home!
Except that I just got an e-mail from PB saying that they have to stay another week. That’s right, I get to do the single-parent thing for another week while he’s working in Egypt. This stinks! I am really NOT looking forward to telling the kids that Daddy’s not coming home tomorrow. Reese has been the saddest. …

With Peanut Butter being gone for 2 weeks, and my brother-in-law taking finals, it was the perfect week for a sleep-over! My sister Andrea and her daughter Vanessa came to stay with us Monday and Tuesday. We had so much fun with them!
For FHE on Monday night, we tried out my new fondue pot. The kids were fascinated with the skinny forks, and loved dipping strawberries and marshmallows in warm chocolate. YUM! (we had other dipping options, but nobody seemed to need anything else!) PB called in the middle of …

All day long, I have been smelling vinegar. It’s been driving me crazy! I sensed it the strongest whenever Apple was close, but it wasn’t until the evening that I discovered the source: his socks. You see, I occasionaly rinse my laundry in vinegar and I figured that his socks got a little too much.
Tonight after dinner, I walked into the laundry room and made a little discovery: While I was having my 2-hour meeting with the Stake Primary President this morning, Apple was in the laundry room. And I …

I don’t think I’ve ever said Happy President’s Day. I typically stick around the house on holidays like this, simply because it’s such a task to lug all six of us anywhere. But I decided to be adventurous today. Maybe it was my independent attitude this week…..Peanut Butter left for his two-week business trip to Egypt this morning and so I am on my own!! It has been 4 1/2 years since PB has travelled for work. Poor Reese was SO distraught this morning at the thought of her “Daddily” …

Last night, I read a post from my friend, Deanna, that made me stop and think. I was floored because it sounded like ME. How could she echo so completely my own thoughts and faults? Deanna, I hope you don’t mind me copying and pasting some of your words, because I think they are worthy of sharing, as a reminder to myself and anybody else out there who may be feeling the same way. Plus, you said it so well! I am constantly amazed that every time I …

I had a little pre-Valentines Day scare. When I got dressed this morning, I didn’t see my wedding rings (engagement, wedding, AND anniversary rings, Plus the 7-diamond, 2 ruby ring from my mom and grandma!!) in their usual spot on the top of my dresser. I was headed out the door, so I put it out of my mind. I remembered that I was still missing my rings after dinner tonight, and so I started my frantic search around the house. Nothing. They were nowhere to be found. I was …

Two pictures from Taco’s birthday party that have nothing to do with my post….
Today, on my way to refill Taco’s lyme disease prescription, I got a message from Reese’s school saying that she had thrown up in class. Wait a minute! She was sick with the stomach virus LAST week. I told the nurse that I would come as soon as I was done getting the Rx. Unfortunately, there was some miscommunication between the pharmacy and the doctor’s office, and there was no amoxicillan for us. So I turned around …

I just heard from my friend, Stacy, that Peanut Butter was in the latest Church News. There was an article about the Church in Latvia, and he was mentioned as one of the four missionaries who opened the country to missionary work. Cool! Now I wish we had a subscription…If you get the Church News, check it out!
PB’s on the far right in the top pic, and on the left side of the donkey on the bottom pic. How young he looks!!

After dropping Reese off at her bus stop (in my jammies, I must add), Apple and I returned home to eat lunch. I asked him what he wanted. He replied, confidently, “Libres!”
Not knowing what “libres” were, I asked him again. Once more, smiling, he replied, “Libres! I want libres.”
“I don’t know what libres are, Hunny,” I said.
Apple’s response: “You know–chips with cheese!”
“Oh, you want Nachos!” As I said Nachos out loud I realized what he meant…..and I couldn’t believe that my two year old knew the movie Nacho Libre that …

I have re-written the beginning of this post a dozen times already. How do you sum up in words your feelings for someone who has been a friend like Wendy? We met Wendy about 10 years ago, and not long after that, she became our favorite babysitter. It was sad to see her move away for college, but we kept in contact and had her over a lot during the semester breaks. My most dear memory of Wendy is from the days before AlmondJoy was born. She spent hours at …
