Another SPLASH park!
[31 Jul 2008 | No Comment | 0 views]

And Another fun day! Apple and I met Lexi and Lis at the Splash park close to us. At first, Apple was nervous about the high fountains of water….but soon, all fear was forgotten, and he ran around having the time of his life. It was threatening rain all day, but we lucked out and had clear skies. It was cloudy and a little colder than I would have liked, but it was a blast anyway.
Apple and I have loved having the week to ourselves. I …

Awesome Aquarium with Andrea
[29 Jul 2008 | No Comment | 0 views]

The first thing I’ll say is today was my most pleasant drive to and from Baltimore EVER. Maybe it was because I had my sister along with me, or maybe I’m FINALLY learning where to go and how to drive in Baltimore! We decided to make one last trip to the Aquarium before our family pass runs out on Thursday. My sister had never been, and my niece loves animals. Four of my kids are in summer camp now, so it was just me and Apple with Andrea and Vanessa. …

Kate’s birthday
[26 Jul 2008 | No Comment | 0 views]

We helped cute Kate celebrate her 2nd birthday this afternoon. As soon as we got to Kate’s pool, the little kids lined up on the edge. I tried to rush into the pool to take a picture, but of course, I wasn’t quite fast enough and the kids had already started to move. Dontcha just love Apple’s silly face (that’s what Krista is pointing and laughing at!). And, yes, that’s Rachel hiding underwater on the left bottom corner to avoid the picture!Kate was happy to sit on the side of …

more pool fun
[25 Jul 2008 | No Comment | 0 views]

We made a quick trip to the pool today with “Baby Lexi,” as Apple affectionately refers to his friend. Apple had fun with a friend in the pool.
“Here, Lexi, you can share my new orange noodle.” (splash)“Mmmm….thanks, Apple! Looks tasty!”“Hey, Lexi, I like your floaty. Wanna trade?”“How YOU doin’?”Fun times

Ketchup
[22 Jul 2008 | No Comment | 0 views]

Twizzler has loved ketchup for a LONG time. We have given up telling him, “That’s too much ketchup! You don’t need that much ketchup!” because he REALLY does eat THAT much. He loves it. How many 7 year olds know the benefits of lycopene (or even know what it is)? Yeah, while he’s eating ketchup on everything from fries to hot dogs to eggs to chicken, he has been reading the back of the bottle.
So, the last time we ran out of ketchup, I jokingly said, “We should open …

Sprayground, VA
[22 Jul 2008 | No Comment | 0 views]

Last week, we bombarded my sister’s house for the day. It was a HOT one, so we took the kids out for a quick stop at Wendy’s (everyone got a Frosty) and then for some cool play at the Sprayground. Everyone (even the older kids) had a good time (although Noodle and Kiwi purposely avoided the camera….)
My niece, Vanessa, adores her cousins, and my kids can’t get enough of her. You should have seen the hugs and kisses and heard the squeals when we got to their house. Happy day!
It …

Memory Tag
[17 Jul 2008 | No Comment | 0 views]

My friend, Anie, (who I miss terribly!) had this on her blog, and I thought it was a fun enough idea to re-post on my blog. Here’s the deal:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory …

Jamestown Settlement
[11 Jul 2008 | No Comment | 0 views]

Our last stop on Williamsburg before heading back home was the Jamestown Settlement. What an amazing place for kids…and adults! It was already sprinkling when we got there, and so we rushed through the outdoor stuff just a little bit, but everyone was enthralled by the hands-on history! Taco and I spent at least 20 minutes exploring the first ship. You could sit on the bunks, handle the ropes and games and food. No behind glass walls here! The Native American village was unbelievable! You could touch …

Busch Gardens (can we go back next week?)
[11 Jul 2008 | No Comment | 0 views]

On our second day in Williamsburg, we went to Busch Gardens. Wow! SO much fun! This first picture is my favorite from the whole day. We had about 4 hours of terrible thunderstorms right in the middle of the day, and so most of the rides were closed. The storm started just after PB, Kiwi, Noodle, and Andrea got in line for an indoor ride, and so Mom and I were stuck in the rain with all of the kids under 7. They were good sports, and the 2 …

Williamsburg
[11 Jul 2008 | No Comment | 0 views]

We’re back from our Williamsburg vacation! We drove down to Williamsburg with my mom, sister, and niece. We had two very full cars, but we made it! Our hotel was within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg, so after unpacking the cars, we walked across the street for some sight seeing and a Colonial dinner. We didn’t go inside any of the buildings (other than the restaurant) but it was fun to just walk around and enjoy the historic atmosphere.
Noodle is so good with Apple–I just love this next set …
