Halloween »

With everyone on antibiotics, we were ready for trunk or treating! I’ve never seen the kids so willing to pose for their Halloween pictures (so I took advantage!).
As soon as AJ saw Twizzler’s “Black” Batman, he wanted to put on a Batman costume, too. I told the boys to show their muscles, and AJ had to check Twizzler to see what I meant.
He didn’t quite get the idea, but he was sure cute.
AJ wasn’t REALLY going to be a Batman for Halloween. In fact, he decided a month ago that …

Did I say something yesterday about looking forward to a day of rest today? Hmm…think again! Reese went to bed last night complaining of a sore throat and pain in her ear, so guess where we headed this morning? Back to the doctor for the 3rd time in 4 days! Did I even mention that Reese gave herself a huge 2nd degree burn on her arm on Saturday night, and we took her in to be checked on Monday?? Today, she ended up not only with strep like Taco, but …
Fall, Halloween, school »

Today was the kindergarten’s annual field trip to the Pumpkin Patch! I was looking forward to going with Reese, and Reese…..well, she was just giddy with excitement.
No day at our house would be complete without a little bit of excitement….so of course, someone HAD to get sick. On Tuesday night at 8:00, all of the kids were running around Noodle’s girl scout meeting, eating cupcakes and playing chase. At 8:45, I was getting the kids ready for bed and noticed Taco laying on the couch downstairs huddled under a blanket. …

I just found out tonight that I am in charge of putting together a relatively small/basic children’s Nativity for our Church Christmas dinner/party. So I thought I’d turn to my great blog readers (especially those of you who never comment!) and ask for help. Have you done or seen something in the past that worked beautifully? (or seen something that did NOT work?) Do you have any suggestions for me? Of course, I can always simply read from Luke and have the children, dressed up, walk through the actions …

I teased you with a preview of their sunrise silouette…and now I just finished editing and uploading a select few of my favorite shots from my sister’s family pictures (remember–I took hers and she took mine). The rest of the pictures can be found here on my photo blog (please visit!).
I love my sister! Doesn’t she have a cute family??

That’s what’s going through my head tonight. I’m done. I’m done with the Primary Sacrament Meeting presentation (the kids did an AMAZING job–everything was perfect!–we even ended on time!). I’m done with today’s Sharing Time….which is my last for a while. For those of you who haven’t heard, I was released as the Primary President. My release has been in process for the last several months, but even though I knew it was coming and it was what I wanted (it was just not good to be a Primary President, …
Fall, blessings »

Remember my car trouble yesterday? Well, I prayed and prayed that it would be an easy resolution (or that it would just go away!) and guess what? The car was running completely smooth and trouble free today. I don’t know what happened yesterday (it seemed to not be engaging in first gear) but apparently the problem is not there anymore. Yeah! It’s my lucky day. Someone knew I needed a special blessing.
Today, after our friend Mo came over to play, AJ decided to sweep the front steps. Of course, I …
Fall, family, photography »

My sister, Andrea, met us on Monday for 2008′s family pictures (we get one done every Fall, even if it means setting up the camera on a tripod and running!). Thankfully, my sister has been around the last 3 years and we haven’t had to worry about the beep-beep-beep timer.
Andrea is a fabulous photographer and I am so excited about our pictures this year! This was the first time that everyone (kids and Dads alike) had a great attitude. We had FUN!
Andrea and I worked out a great …

Just a short post…..I was shocked today when I looked at my gas receipt. Only $36.40!! Granted, my van wasn’t completely empty, but I can’t remember the last time I filled up with gas for less than $50! Nice!
A short while after filling up the tank, the van started acting funny (when I start from being stopped, the car labors to accelerate. It sounds and feels like the car is not in gear. I creep along until the car gets to 20 MPH and then it’s fine. This has never …

Tonight was laundry folding night, and if you know me well, you know that I watch movies while I fold laundry. And the kids fold their own laundry. The kids love laundry night because it means a movie on a school night. Yipee!
Tonight’s movie was Nacho Libre. Listening to Taco’s laugh during the movie is even more hilarious and entertaining than the movie itself. So….at the end of the movie, I pulled out the Nacho Libre mask that PB and I found during last year’s cruise stop in Mexico. One …
