Happy Halloween!
[31 Oct 2009 | No Comment | 0 views]

Today has been one of those S-L-O-W computer days. Everything I do seems to lock my computer up, and it is about to drive me crazy. I know that I promised to announce my Flip Giveaway winner today. I’m afraid that picking a winner from 740 entries (including bonus entries that need to be counted) with a computer that keeps locking up is proving quite difficult. Plus, I had this vision of printing out all of the entries and having one of the kids pick the winner out of a …

Photobucket

Have you noticed that I have been including a few more videos on my blog? I haven’t quite gotten brave enough to vlog myself much (this week—I swear one is coming!), but I do love capturing the action that is so prevalent in my house. The single reason for those videos? I got myself a an early birthday present. One of these fabulous cameras:

My Flip camera was one of the very first things I packed for my trips to New York and Vegas…in fact, it’s almost always in my purse …

Color Incorporated – Canvas Gallery Wrap Giveaway
[25 Oct 2009 | No Comment | 0 views]

Those of you who know me, or have visited my blog more than a few times, know that I love photography. And if you’ve been to my house, you’ll know that I love to display the pictures that I’ve taken of my kids. My sister got me hooked on gallery wrap canvas prints. So when I was contacted by Color Incorporated Digital Pro Lab, I was more than happy to review one of their gallery wraps for them.
The hard part, as always, was picking a picture that I liked well …

Bring Out the Lab Coats!
[24 Oct 2009 | No Comment | 1 views]

This week, Team Mom and two of Elmer’s all-new science kits, Weird World of Water and Magnificent Manicure Kit, provided hours of fun for me and my kids.
My kids can tell you that science is all around us, from the food they eat to the soaps and lotions they use (because they listen at school!). The difference is that they rarely get to do something this cool at school.
The girls and I (minus my tom-boy Necco) started off with the Manicure Kit. The kit came with a very detailed instructions …

Give Me Your Best Shot – Vegas Night Life!
[23 Oct 2009 | No Comment | 0 views]

Once again, I couldn’t pick just one favorite picture from this week. What can you expect after a trip to Las Vegas?
After the SITScation conference was over, my brother and sister in law took me to their apartment, just a short drive away from the strip. Later that evening, we returned to the strip for some of the exciting Vegas night life. The Bellagio hotel had an incredible indoor flower display.
And the ceiling of the lobby was covered with blown glass flowers. Apparently each flower is worth $20,000.
We made our …

Motherhood Has Changed Me
[22 Oct 2009 | No Comment | 0 views]

When I first read through MamaKat’s prompts for this week’s Writer’s Workshop, my gut reaction to #4 (Describe how motherhood has changed you) was to point out all of the signs of motherhood on my physical body. The varicose veins covering my legs that appeared during pregnancy and will only disappear with surgery….the stretched-out stomach….the swollen ankles…..the permanent bags under my eyes from lack of sleep. Not to mention the “few” pounds that I am holding on to since I started having kids.
But I don’t think that those physical things …
