Bloggography Challenge – ISO

Is it Tuesday already? How does the time go by so fast? It’s time for another Bloggography Challenge! But before we move on to this week’s challenge, I wanted to showcase one of my favorite pictures from the first challenge (Winter theme). I’ll be looking through this week’s entries to show off another favorite picture with our next challenge in 2 weeks. Manic Mother has picked her favorite, too. Is it yours?

I fell in love with this little duck in the snow taken by Lori from Peterson St. Louis. I can see why Lori was tempted to bring him home with her! Why is it that seeing animals in the snow makes it look so much colder to me?

In last week’s Bloggography lesson on ISO, we challenged you to experiment with your camera’s ISO and show us the results.

We had a loooong weekend. The kids were off school on Monday for a teacher work day, and we had a lot of fun playing with Lincoln Logs. I was laying on the floor in my family room taking pictures of Lincoln Logs when CandyMan walked in from work. I felt like I had to explain myself. Haha!

Twizzler worked all day to build this elaborate Lincoln Logs town, and when I asked him about it, I found out that even more thought had gone into it than I initially suspected. This kid’s a deep thinker.

I love using a higher ISO to capture no-flash photos indoors.

Canon 40D,Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens,ISO 500, f/2.8, 1/25 sec.

For some reason the following set-up and resulting picture cracked me up.

Canon 40D,Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens,ISO 500, f/3.5, 1/100 sec.

Canon 40D,Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens,ISO 640, f/2.8, 1/60 sec.

Now it’s your turn! Did you experiment with using different ISOs this week? Please leave your link in the MckLinky below and be sure to link back to us (either with a text link or a button). We’d love to have you add your pictures to our Bloggography flickr group, too. I love seeing it grow! Next week, come back for another tutorial (this time on shutter speed) and another challenge…..and Manic Mother and I will be featuring a few of our favorite pictures from this week’s challenge in two weeks!

How funny that you had a dream about us talking on the phone! I’m sure we could chat away without a problem! As far as Disqus goes, it has been acting very finicky (it disappears from my blog a few times a week). It’s very odd, but I decided to take it down for now. I don’t want to be missing comments!

Great pictures! I sold our lincoln logs a few years ago at a garage sale. I probably should have kept them but they were just taking up too much space.

I would love to link to your post but for some reason it’s not letting me!

Aww… McLinky is blocked at work:( Will be back.

But your photos are gorgeous! Great depth of field on those.

I noticed your ISO is a bit different from mine… My camera only lets me choose Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800, or 1600.

It would be great to hang these kids of photos in a play room!

I have not been able to figure out where to change my ISO on my camera. I poured over my instruction booklet again today.
I have a Fuji Point and Shoot.
    Thanks much!

OK–I looked through the entire manual. ;) On page 116 of your manual, I found the first mention of ISO. It looks like your camera might have a set ISO (sensitivity) of 100. I’m sorry!

    OK–I just found this article:
    http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/F2650/F265A.HTM

It says, “Though it’s not adjustable, the 2650’s sensitivity is equivalent to ISO 100, which limits the camera’s low-light shooting capabilities.”

At least you don’t have to keep looking! :(
