The annual Blue and Gold Banquet for cub scouts and their families was held this past Saturday night. One of the traditions for the Blue and Gold Banquet is to have each of the boys bring a themed cake. Not only do we have abundant desserts after dinner, but the boys each get recognized for their cake creations.

The theme of this year’s Blue and Gold was “Resourceful Pioneers.” Twizzler and I thought we were being so creative when we made a log cabin out of pretzel rods and a lake out of jello. Surprisingly, there were several other boys that had the same pretzel-cabin idea (though his was the only jello lake). Oh, and if you’re wondering, we used homemade chocolate frosting to hold the cabin together. There was lots of finger-licking going on that night!

Reese, the little Mommy

This last picture is just a fun addition from that night. Reese loves taking care of babies, including those babies who weigh nearly as much as she does! What a little Mommy!
