My kids and I LOVE playing games together. I’m sure their love of games came directly from their parents. CandyMan and I used to play games together every night after classes and work. Having kids put a wrench in our game-playing routine. Either we couldn’t pull our games out for fear of little fingers getting ahold of little pieces, or we were too exhausted to play after the kids went to bed at night.
We are loving the stage we’re in now. All 5 of our kids are old enough to play games with us (and I often find them playing games together spontaneously when I’m busy).
Recently, Hasbro sent us the new Clue: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Edition and it has become our newest addiction.
All of my kids and I love this game equally. The Potter-esque rules are a little more complicated than the regular Clue, but even my 6 year old caught on during the first go-around. The extra steps (dark magic, floo powder, and spells) make the game all the more exciting (and it totally pulls in the Harry Potter fan in my kids).
What Harry Potter Clue is about:
Clue: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Edition – a bewitching mystery that has players exploring the halls of Hogwarts, the Forbidden Forest, the Ministry of Magic and beyond. A Hogwarts student has gone missing and it’s your job to uncover the mystery – Where did the attack occur? Who did it? Which weapon or spell did they use? Players take on the identity of their favorite “Harry Potter” character and then race to decipher clues, uncover secrets and solve the mystery of the missing student!
Does your family enjoy playing games together? What are your current favorites?
