In just two weeks my kids will be heading back to school, and in honor of appreciating the last few days of summer, a few of my blogging friends shared some of their favorite back to school crafts for kids.
How are you finishing off the end of summer with the kids?
Celebrate back-to-school season with kid-friendly crafts!
Have you tried my kids’ favorite summer 2013 craft? Their easy popsicle stick picture puzzles were a huge hit.
I love this Back-to-school Countdown craft from the Suburban Mom. No matter how many days your kids have left before school starts, it’s never too late to start a fun countdown to school!
What kid would not love these adorable DIY balloon flip flops from Time For All Things? I know my kids would totally get into a craft like this.
About a Mom’s Monster Pencil Case craft is not only great for back to school, but it is PERFECT for my 8 year old who loves to sew!
I love that these pony bead suncatchers from Growing Up Gabel are so easy for the kids to do (with help on the oven portion, of course).
These DIY clay beads from About a Mom are cute enough that I would even enjoy spending the afternoon making them (and wearing them!).
When I was teaching the 3 year olds at church, I discovered the most fabulous thing…kids LOVE pipe cleaners! My kids got hooked on creating with pipe cleaners, too, so I know they’d adore making these back to school pipe cleaner pencil toppers from About a Mom.
Jen from the Suburban Mom shows us how to make some adorable popsicle stick picture frames (and with the mega supply of popsicle sticks I bought at the beginning of the summer, we are set for this one!).
My kids LOVE to play with slime…but the last time we tried making slime (led by my 10 year old daughter) it didn’t turn out quite as good as this fun green slime from Mom Luck.
These DIY magnetic fridge frames from Jade Louise Designs are perfect for kids of all ages and abilities. What would you showcase inside the frames?
Looking for a teen and older kid-friendly craft? My 14 year old in particular would go crazy for these DIY color your own shoes craft from SusieQTpies (BTW, she has a list of 50 great summer activities for teens, too, if you need some ideas to keep your older kids occupied for a few more days!).
What better than a back to school craft that helps the kids practice their math skills? This watermelon math activity from My Kids Guide is too cute!
Forget the kids…I want to make these glowing glitter jars for myself! How neat is this easy craft project from Sassy Girlz?
Whether or not your kids are into Star Wars like mine (or just fans of candy!), these miniature lightsabers from Jade Louise Designs are so much fun!
I know we go through a ton of toilet paper when all 7 of us are home for the summer…so I love Mama to 5 Blessings’ idea to turn those empty toilet paper tubes into a craft for all ages. I love how their toilet paper tube artwork turned out!
And finally, last but not least, melting crayons to make fun, new, multi-colored crayons is a kid craft that I’ll always recommend. It takes a full day but it’s so much fun (and what kid doesn’t love peeling the paper off crayons??).
